Questions to ask before you hire any design agency including us.

Why We're Handing You the Knife

Choosing a design partner is a real risk, and plenty of people have been burned before. So instead of another pitch, here are the questions we'd want you to ask of us, and of anyone else in the running. If a studio can't answer these well, that tells you more than any portfolio. We'd rather you choose us with your eyes open than sign up unsure.

Do They Ask About Your Business, or Just Your Taste?

A good partner is curious about how you make money, who your customers are, and what a win actually looks like for you. If the whole conversation is about colours you like and sites you admire, be careful. Taste matters, but design that isn't built on your business is just decoration. The right questions from them are the first sign you're in good hands.

Can They Explain Their Choices?

Ask why. Why this typeface, why this layout, why this structure over another. Someone who knows their craft can explain every decision in plain terms that tie back to your goals. Someone who can only say "it looks better this way" is guessing, and you'll be paying for the guesses.

What Happens After Launch?

A lot of agencies disappear the moment the site goes live. Ask what support looks like afterwards, how changes are handled, and whether they're around when something breaks. A brand and a website are living things they need tending. How a studio answers this tells you whether they see you as a project or a partner.

Trust the Ones Who Tell You the Truth

The most valuable partner is the one willing to disagree with you when you're about to make a mistake. Anyone who only says yes is protecting the invoice, not the work. Look for the studio that tells you the uncomfortable truth early that honesty is worth more than any amount of polish. And if that standard rules us out for your project, we'd genuinely rather you find the right fit.
